Taiwan Food Experience Days 5-8

Our epic journey continues on in the run up to xmas and we started day 5 with a visit to a large department store in Zhubei called 四川吳抄手 遠百竹北店 and it was Michelin recommended for a few dishes, the slow roasted pulled pork being one of them:

It was very rich and flavourful but I thought the pork could have used more cooking time as it was a bit chewy.

I’m In Taiwan Stuffing My Face With Incredible Food Days 3 and 4

Day 3
We’re still in Taichung and our guide suggested we try one of Taiwan’s top Teppanyaki places called 高林鐵板燒 which is near the National Museum of Natural Science:


We only stopped by for a short lunch and I had scallop, shredded rib eye, vegetables, rice and sweetcorn soup. All for about £15!

I’m In Taiwan Stuffing My Face With Incredible Food Part 39811

It has been some years since I was last in Taiwan and after an epic trip over from a freezing UK in which:

  • Initial flight was delayed for 6 hours
  • Connecting flight missed
  • KLM flight replacement flight class was downgraded
  • Baggage lost on arrival

Verily after 32 hours I was all like “well at least when we get to the grandparents baby Gabriel can eat deep fried ducks heart” which he totally did!
